Why is there a big black stripe?
Last Updated 5 years ago
The large black strip visible in the ocean off the coast of New Zealand in the RiskScape map panel. The stripe is due to the effect of the background map layer. The default map comes from open street map. When it is displayed on the screen there is an artefact at the edge of the open map layer around the edge of the date line (e.g. 360 degrees). I have noticed that this artefact appears for everyone. At this stage there is nothing we can do about the appearance of the black strip but please rest assured that it will not affect your outputs. You can change the default layer to LINZ maps and this will not appear with the black strip.
